Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, and as young people, we understand the urgency of taking action. That’s why the Prosper Kenya Youth Foundation, in partnership with the Blue Economy Youth International, launched the Youth for Climate Action Machakos campaign. Our goal was to raise awareness about the impact of climate change on our community and inspire young people to take action.
We were thrilled to see so many people come out to support our cause at our recent tree planting event. The event was held in partnership with Greening Mua Environmental Initiative, and together we were able to plant over 200 trees in a single day! This was a tremendous achievement, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who participated.
The event was also an opportunity for us to share information about the importance of public participation in addressing climate change. We were honored to have guest speakers from various organizations who spoke about the impact of climate change and the role that young people can play in making a difference. The talks were informative and inspiring, and we hope that they encouraged attendees to take action.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the support of our partners, Greening Mua Environmental Initiative, and the International Republican Institute, who provided the funding for the campaign. We are grateful for their support and collaboration, and we look forward to continuing our work together to address climate change in Machakos County.
In conclusion, the Youth for Climate Action Machakos campaign has been a resounding success, and we are thrilled with the impact we have made so far. However, we know that there is still much work to be done. We will continue to raise awareness and take action to protect our environment and build a sustainable future for all.
