FOUNDER'S STORY
Founder’s Story Dominic Kilonzo Kiio’s
journey began in poverty, but through the grace of MCF, he found hope, mentorship, and a vision. Now a leader and community advocate, Dominic established D.K.F. to give back to the very communities that raised him. His mission: to rewrite stories of hardship into stories of hope.
Our mission is to empower youth, support education, promote governance and leadership, and uplift communities through sustainable development. We work with local partners, volunteers, institutions, and young leaders to build a future where no child is left behind because of where come from.
This deeply personal journey became the foundation of a greater calling. What began as one young man’s escape from poverty evolved into a vision for collective transformation. Dominic’s experience planted a seed of purpose that would one day grow into the Dominic Kilonzo Foundation (D.K.F.)—a platform to inspire, empower, and uplift others facing similar struggles.
My story is one of resilience, grace, and purpose. I was born and raised in a humble background in Ndalani Ward, Yatta Constituency, and spent my formative years at the Mully Children’s Family (MCF) — a place that gave me not just shelter, but hope, love, and the courage to dream. It was there that the seed of service was planted in my heart.
Growing up in a children’s home taught me the power of compassion, community, and opportunity. I made a promise to myself and to God — that if I ever made it out, I would return to uplift those still walking the path I once did.
The Dominic Kilonzo Foundation is a fulfillment of that promise. It is my life’s mission to empower youth, transform communities, and build a generation of leaders who rise beyond their circumstances. Through education, governance, entrepreneurship, and service, we are rewriting stories of struggle into stories of strength.
From the heart of Machakos County, we are proving that no beginning is too small to birth a great impact.
